OWNER/FOUNDER RACHEL ROBERTSON
From a very young age, Rachel could often be found perched on an upside-down grain bucket in the corner of the old red barn, meticulously taking apart, cleaning and reassembling tack. The importance of taking care of her tack was instilled in her from the get-go; however Rachel’s fascination with ALL things horse related had sparked her curiosity to learn and absorb as much information about the craftsmanship and design behind the tack she owned and that which she often cleaned for the many instructors at the large eventing barn she rode at. More than twenty-five years of assessing, cleaning, repairing and repurposing tack has given her an almost encyclopedic understanding of not just what looks good - but what truly works to provide comfort for both horse and rider and to develop and strengthen the almost symbiotic relationship on a sacred level.
At Rachel’s very core is the desire to honor the horse, to use tack as a true aide to further the horse-rider potential and with the depth of a physician-like creed, to “first do no harm”.
While choosing tack that is appropriate and beautiful is central to the alchemy, developing the bonds of friendship and understanding with her customers comes a very close second.

HEATHER ROBERTSON LOGISTICS & OPERATIONS
Heather oversees logistics and operations, bringing precision and care to every detail—from finance and marketing support to the meticulous packing and shipping of each order. Every piece that leaves The Tack Alchemist is handled with intention, ensuring it arrives safely, beautifully, and exactly as expected.
Though she hasn’t spent much time in the saddle herself, her equestrian knowledge was earned through years of hands-on involvement and genuine curiosity. From vet appointments and farrier visits to scribing for dressage judges, she developed a deep understanding of the equine world and the equipment that supports it. Along the way, she mastered saddle anatomy, bridle disassembly and reassembly, and the nuances of high-end tack and leather goods.
A seasoned horse show mom, expert stall cleaner, forelock braider, and calm, decisive problem-solver in high-pressure situations—including assisting during HYPP episodes—Heather’s contributions extend far beyond logistics alone. Her trained eye and attention to detail make her an invaluable part of the buying, selling, and fulfillment process.
Her unwavering support, discernment, and dedication to this work make her not only a cornerstone of The Tack Alchemist, but the most trusted partner I could ask for.
